PTI Make it Monday #40 Reverse Applique

This week Heather came up with a wonderful challenge: Reverse Applique for Make it Monday over at Papertrey Ink.

As soon as I saw this technique I knew I wanted to use the Dress Form die and some fabric, because of the stitching theme.
So here's my take on the challenge:

I've die cut the Dress Form from Stampers Select White cardstock and ran it through my BigShot using the Music Sheet Impression Plate. Then I hand stitched around the Dress Form with a thread in Raspberry Fizz color.
The little piece of fabric is from 'Tilda' Wintergarden and to add some dimension I stuffed it with fiberfill and adhered it to another piece of white cardstock. The card front is attached to a Raspberry Fizz cardbase.

A colorful challenge

There's a new challenge on the Passion for Papertrey blog. This time they came up with a colorful challenge using this colorscheme...

I was immediately inspired since I've seen this wonderful Christmas Poinsettia over at Nichole's blog.
So when my new stash arrived thursday afternoon I started digging in my box searching for the package with the stamp set which included the dies. (Don't you love the way the PTI goodies come in? Every stamp set in a piece of paper and one package has all the dies... And the way the buttons are on top, smiling at you and scream: grab me, grab me!!)

I die cut 2 large flowers and 2 medium ones out of Mellon Berry felt and 2 leaves out of Simply Chartreuse felt and stitched them like Nichole did.
Since I like it quick and easy I punched a small hole with my Crop-a-dile and stuck them together with a brad. On top is a Simply Chartreuse button.

Then I cut a piece of Vintage Cream cardstock and I used my Music Sheet impression plate with an Angled Label die to create the embossed card front. The sentiment is stamped in Stazon Timber Brown and is from the new Christmas Poinsettia stamp set.
Finally I adhered the front on a card of Dark Brown cardstock.

This weeks Make it Monday is about making your own backgrounds using mutiple stamps.
I love watching the video's every week and I'm glad I had the chance to join again this time.

And here's my take on the challenge:

For my background I've used the branches from Bells & Boughs in Ripe Avocado Ink, the little stars from Love Lives Here: Holiday in Scarlet Jewel, the dots are from Bells & Boughs as wel, stamped with Stazon in Timber Brown. After stamping these images I stamped Background Basics: Newsprint with Versamark on top and inked the edges with Distress Ink Antique Linnen.

I've also created mutiple layers with the die cuts to get more depth in the card.

I'm waiting for my October goodies to arrive this afternoon, till then I'll kill some time creating more backgrounds ;)

Luiertaart Lynn

Zondag is het kraamfeest van ons nieuwe vriendinnetje Lynn. Voor haar geboorte heb ik een luiertaart gemaakt in de kleuren van haar kamertje met een schattige Hello Kitty on top :)
(sigh... 33 and still in love with Hello Kitty ;P)

Natuurlijk heb ik ook een bijpassend kaartje gemaakt en een labeldoekje. Deze heb ik verpakt in een zelfgemaakte buidel van wafeldoek met een grote stoffen bloem op een speld

Sensational Silhouettes

I feel my mojo coming back slowly again and I can finally find some rest to sit down and create. Still need challenges to keep me going, but that's fine with me :)
Today I've joined A Passion for Papertrey challenge 'Sensational Silhouettes'.

The Postmarks stamp set has this little lady silhouette which I've used to create a background pattern. The crown and the little medallion are also from that stamp set.
The flower is die cut from Autum Rose cardstock with the Bloom Builders 3 die and assembled with a black brad.

PTI Make it Monday #37

This weeks Make it Monday is about layering frames and finally I got the chance to join again. I always try to use stash that's not been used yet in the link list so I did not want to use my flower or mat stack dies. For this challenge I've used the photo finisher strip die.
When I saw Nicholes Christmas Poinsettia background during the release I was in awe. It's so very beautiful that I tried to create one myself. Since my October goodies haven't arrived yet, I found an alternative in Maile's Bells & Boughes stamp set.

PTI Make it Monday #17

Finally, after attempting to join 16 times before, I've created a project for the Make it Monday Challenge over at Papertrey Ink!

This weeks challenge is to use the cracked glass technique and here's my take on it:

I've cut out the three beautiful blooms #1, the largest flower is cut out of Sweet Blush cardstock, the medium flower is cut out Stampers Select White and stamped on with a Bitty Background Block using Sweet Blush Ink, the smallest flower is cut out of Stampers Select White. The three flowers are embossed with Utra Thick Clear Embossingpowder (3 times) and cracked, like Heather's tutorial.
The beautiful glitter button is from the Sweet Blush button collection.

The background is stamped with Versamark on Sweet Blush cardstock and embossed with Super Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder from Ranger.

Nieuwe steel....

Het is stil hier op m'n blog, ik weet het.
Dat wil niet zeggen dat ik de afgelopen maanden stil gezeten heb...
Sinds begin april werk ik bij Van Leeuwen International een fabrikant van exclusief bouw- en interieurbeslag.
In dit filmpje wat gemaakt is op de bouwbeurs zie je een presentatie van de producten die we leveren.

Ik heb nooit geweten dat er zoveel verschillende, maar vooral mooie producten op de markt waren.....

Natuurlijk ben ik niet helemaal gestopt met scrappen. Ik heb weer nieuwe projecten ingeleverd voor de volgende SBM en Cards Only, al is het niet zoveel als voorheen.
Ik ben ook een Hello Kitty aan het maken, deze laat ik binnenkort zeker zien!

Moederdag

Deze kaart heb ik voor m'n moeder gemaakt voor moederdag. Sinds ik m'n Bigshot heb gekregen afgelopen kerst ben ik helemaal verslingerd aan stansjes en met name de dies van Papertrey Ink. Ik vind het dan ook helemaal geweldig dat de stempels precies bij de stansjes passen. Voor deze kaart heb ik dan ook alleen maar PTI spulletjes gebruikt. De basis van de kaart heb ik gelift van Dawn McVey en de kleuren heb ik aangepast aan de stijl van m'n moeder.

Het cadeautje heb ik ingepakt met Tilda Lavender dessinpapier en in een transparant envelopje gedaan. Het touw is bakers twine in grijs met wit en het labeltje is ook een PTI stansje met stempel.

Een vriendin is bevallen van een prachtige zoon. Aangezien het geboortekaartje en het kamertje in lime-groen en aqua is heb ik een passend cadeautje gemaakt.
Ze heeft het zelf nog niet gezien, dus daarom alleen een sneak van één van de ingredienten...

Eindelijk, de winter lijkt bijna voorbij. Na de kerst kijk ik altijd enorm uit naar het voorjaar, het zonnetje en de vrolijke bloemen.... Van Jolanda heb ik deze schattige viooltjes gekregen en de tuin ziet er gelijk een stuk gezelliger uit....

Nog een klein bedankje....

Nu heb ik echt niks meer van het Lily Bee papier, ik heb echt elk restje gebruikt dus ik hoop dat het snel beschikbaar is in de winkel! Het kleurt zo mooi bij de paarse paaseitjes... De stempels die ik gebruikt heb zijn van Papertrey Ink, helaas zijn deze alleen in Amerika te bestellen. Ik vind het zo leuk dat ze bijpassende stansjes hebben bij de stempels. De stansjes gaan niet alleen door papier, maar ook door vilt en dat geeft nét even wat extra's aan je kaartje.

Deze twee 'snoepzakjes' heb ik gemaakt voor twee vrolijke meiden. De verpakkingen zijn van Bo Bunny, het dessinpapier van Echo Park 'Little Girl', de vlinders van Jillibean Soup, het lint van Doodlebug en de stempel van Papertrey Ink. Ze zijn gevuld met Skittles.

M'n laatste post is al weer even geleden. Ben druk bezig geweest met de projecten voor het Scrapbook Magazine, die deadline was afgelopen week.
Na zo'n deadline kun je niet meer lopen in m'n scrapkamer en is ook het bureau bijna niet meer te vinden. Dit weekend is het de hoogste tijd om op te ruimen dus.
Halverwege ben ik even gestopt om dit kaartje te maken......

Het is gemaakt met restjes van mijn Lily Bee 'Picket Fence' layouts en ik heb m'n nieuwe Papertrey Ink stempels en stansjes gebruikt.

De vlinder heb ik zelf gehaakt van borduurzijde met haaknaald 2:

De Efteling

taaa tata taaa tata tatata..... taaa tata taaa tata taaaaaaaaa

De melodie kun je er waarschijnlijk wel bij verzinnen, want wie kent het niet!?!
Ik heb het natuurlijk over het liedje van het Carnaval Festival uit de Efteling.

Zaterdag zijn we met m'n schoonfamilie naar de Efteling geweest en wij hadden Indy ook mee genomen. Hoewel de twee meiden elkaar al een paar maanden niet gezien hadden, waren ze gelijk dikke vriendinnen. Het was geweldig om te zien hoe ze samen door het park stapten en genoten van de atrracties en sprookjes figuren.

Indy heeft ook bij ons gelogeerd en nichtjes mogen natuurlijk (bijna) alles, zoals een lekkere puinhoop maken in de woonkamer.

Maar ach... het is droog spul, met 5 minuutjes ruimen zit alles weer in de tassen en liggen de kussens weer in de bank.

Picket Fence, Lily Bee

De derde collectie waar ik mee bezig ben voor het volgende Scrapbook Magazine is 'Picket Fence' van Lily Bee. Sinds hun debuut collectie Three Little Birds ben ik al fan van hun eigenwijze stijl. Fris, maar toch met een vleugje vintage.
Lily Bee heeft nu ook een collectie basis papier genaamd: 'Stationary' en deze vellen zijn een absolute aanwinst! Ze matchen perfect bij het dessinpapier en maken je project echt 'af'.

De foto's die ik gebruik zijn écht anders deze keer en helemaal in dezelfde stijl.

Glitz Laced with Grace

Ik heb niet echt iets met oranje.... ben wel voor oranje :), maar vind het nou niet echt een mooie kleur. Toch viel ik meteen voor de prachtige collectie 'Laced with Grace' van Glitz Design. Ik ben gek op de romantische bloemen, de nostalgische uitstraling en de embellischments en stempels zijn fantastisch!

Dit is dan ook de tweede lijn waar ik mee aan het werk ben voor het nieuwe Scrapbook Magazine. Afgelopen zomer toen Truike terug kwam van de beurs had ik ook al een Glitz collectie (Love Nest) uitgezocht om mee aan de slag te gaan en deze keer is mijn keuze dus wederom op Glitz (Laced with Grace)gevallen. Mijn twee schoonzussen zijn allebei net fotomodellen, dus het wordt nog kiezen wie de volgende keer in het blad staat...

Magnolia Butterfly Dreams

Een paar uur geleden hoorde we in de winkel dat de nieuwe Magnolia collectie 'Butterfly Dreams' onderweg is uit Zweden naar Doorn. Enthousiast ga ik aan de slag met de plaatjes om vervolgens deze collage te maken.
Heb even gedacht om er een watermerk overheen te zetten, maar dat leek me niet nodig.....Nou dat heb ik geweten..... 'mijn' collage is niet alleen op websites in Nederland te zien, maar ook in Amerika! Voor mij natuurlijk wel lachen, maar dat was niet helemaal de bedoeling ....

Ik ben helemaal fan van de nieuwe collecties van Jillibean Soup! De nieuwe Blossom Soup is echt fantastich leuk, heerlijke kleuren om mee te werken!
Als je nieuwsgierig bent, naar wat ik gemaakt heb, moet je toch nog even wachten, want het is voor Scrapbook Magazine 35 en die komt begin april 2011 uit!

Vanmiddag heb ik lekker ingepland om te gaan scrappen. Er zijn al samples binnen gekomen van de releases op de CHA, dus de papiertjes die voor me liggen zijn vers van de pers :)
Deze layout gemaakt met American Crafts Dear Lizzy is al wat ouder, van toen de 'vlaggetjes en waslijnen' in de mode waren, maar ik vind vlaggetjes nog steeds leuk! Lekker knippen :D

Eindelijk... mijn mannetje is weer thuis.
Normaal gaat een week heel snel, maar deze week duurde me eigenlijk toch nét even te lang. Hoewel ik me echt niet verveeld heb, ben ik wel blij dat hij er weer is. Vol verhalen kwam hij gisteravond thuis en hij had ook nog wat voor me mee genomen :)

Gisteren alweer naar het ziekenhuis geweest en vanmiddag ga ik ook nog even, maar deze keer kijk ik er naar uit!

Op 01-01-2011 zijn mijn neefje Finn en nichtje Jill geboren!
Een bijzondere datum, en een heel bijzondere gebeurtenis. Het zijn echt wolkjes van baby's..... Hoewel Jill wel heeeel erg klein is, gaat het gelukkig goed met de tweeling.

Omdat ik nog geen cadeautje had heb ik even wat kleins voor de dotjes gemaakt. Een klein take-away doosje met een paar ieniemie sokjes en een kaartje voor His Royal Highness en Her Royal Highness.

Een gezellige avond en een gezond, gelukkig en fantastisch 2011 allemaal!

Je kent ze vast wel, die kleine flesjes met dat rode spul en gele dop.... Momenteel voel ik me of ik er twee dozen van op heb .... en die boot, waarom zit ik toch altijd bij het minste of geringste op die boot!?!?!

Leek het zondag even de goede kant op te gaan, zat ik 's avonds alweer in het ziekenhuis vanwege een allergische reactie. In no time werden er twee spuiten in m'n arm geramd (echt, ik voelde me net een dartbord) en was het wachten of ik er goed op zou reageren en m'n huid en klieren weer normaal zouden worden. Op m'n borst deed het nog het meeste pijn en daar heb ik ook wel spierpijn aan overgehouden (of is dat geen spier?) in ieder geval dat kramp gevoel. Even leek het of ik helemaal onder zijl zou gaan, maar ik bleef gelukkig bij m'n positieven.
Hoewel eten mijn grootste hobby is, kan ik je vertellen dat ik nu amper wat durf te nemen. Maandag begonnen mijn wangen en oren alweer, nu kon ik zelf tijdig medicijnen nemen. Maar mén wat wordt je daar hyper en dronken van. Geen wonder dat je er niet mee mag autorijden (niet dat ik daarvoor in de stemming ben, maar toch).

Daarom vandaag voor mij maar even helemaal geen medicijnen en dan hoop ik dat ik die allergie-dingen ook niet meer nodig heb.
En als die boot waar ik op zit nou eens zou vast vriezen in het ijs, staat m'n hoofd ook weer stil....

Tegenvaller

Even een korte update vanuit m'n bedje.
De operatie is erg tegen gevallen gisteren, maar het goede nieuws is dat ze me helemaal binnenste buiten gekeerd hebben en niks hebben gevonden. Aan de ene kant een geruststelling, aan de andere kant ook een raadsel.
Ik ben erg misselijk geweest van de narcose en ze hebben me een behoorlijke cocktail gegeven om op de been te blijven, met alle bijwerkingen van dien.
Gelukkig ben ik de nacht redelijk doorgekomen, maar nu neemt de pijn toe.
En dat gas zit echt overal, maar wil nog niet echt naar buiten, dus dat zit ook dwars.
Niet zo'n positief berichtje dus.

Maar... ik wordt wel vertroeteld hoor! M'n mannetje zorgt goed voor me. In de slaapkamer staan bloemen en lieve kaartjes. M'n broertje en Anthea hebben diverse blaadjes gebracht om te lezen als ik me weer wat beter voel. En als ik m'n vader of moeder aan de telefoon heb schiet ik vol... Combo van de narcose en de spanning denk ik.

Nog 2 uurtjes dan mag ik weer wat pijnstillers...

Nog 1 nachtje slapen, nee dan ga ik niet naar Nick & Simon en ook niet naar the voice....
Morgen gaan ze kijken of er iets aan mijn buikpijn te doen is. Het is al weer ruim 4,5 jaar en het 'hoort' inmiddels al helemaal bij mij. Hinderlijk is het zeker, maar ik kan er tegenwoordig goed mee om gaan (al zeg ik het zelf). Mensen dicht bij me waarschuwen me vaak genoeg dat ik gas terug moet nemen, maar dat gaat morgen ZEKER niet lukken. Ruim 3 liter koolzuurgas komt er aan te pas om te kunnen kijken in m'n buikholte, nou als ze dan nog niks kunnen zien ;)
De uitslag krijg ik pas 7 januari, maar misschien kunnen ze morgen al wel 'iets' melden.....

Toen ik een klein meisje was en voor het eerst een operatie moest ondergaan, kreeg ik van mijn ouders een poezie album. Een van de versjes die ik nog uit mijn hoofd weet is van mijn opa:

Voor alle mensen groot en klein, komt er na regen ook weer zonneschijn. Wat opa jou zou willen geven is veel zonneschijn in heel je leven.

Wat dit toen met me deed, kan ik je niet vertellen, maar nu geeft het me een goed gevoel.... :D

We gaan naar the Voice of Holland Live!

Voor degene die mijn facebook en twitter niet volgen zal ik het even toelichten...
Vrijdagavond zijn Henri en ik naar de studio van Lukkien gereden in de hoop nog kaarten te bemachtigen voor de Live show. Op shownieuws hadden we gezien dat de inwoners van Ede opgeroepen waren om naar de studio te komen omdat het publiek de studio niet kon bereiken vanwege de hevige sneeuwval.
Niks voor ons zo'n spontane actie maar we hadden al eerder gekeken voor kaarten en die zijn gewoon niet te betalen. Dus wij de stoute 'sneeuw'schoenen aangetrokken en naar Ede gereden. Helaas waren er met ons nog zeker zo'n 200 man en om half negen gingen de studio deuren dicht, zonder ons in de zaal :(
We kregen van de organisatie allemaal een flesje drinken en als schrale troost een zak Haribo Starmix. Wij waren al helemaal blij, A omdat we dubbel lagen om onze eigen actie, B we kregen nog wat te drinken ook, C ook nog een grote zak snoep en we zijn in die grote tenten geweest die je op tv ziet voordat de show begint. En ik heb ook Ray nog gezien en hij zei me nog gedag ook :D (ja ja.. ik weet dat hij er uit ligt, maar hij komt uit de buurt en gaat altijd naar de kapper bij Zus & Zus in Amerongen, de kapsalon van een vriendin van ons met haar schoonzus, en hij is gewoon leuk....)
Voordat we weggingen hebben we ons emailadres achter gelaten en je raad het al....
We hebben bericht gekregen dat we volgend jaar naar één van de Live Shows mogen!!!!

Heerlijk!!! Ik ben gek op muziek en The Voice is echt mijn favorite programma momenteel. Het lijkt me geweldig om een keer zo'n show van dichtbij mee te maken. En het is natuurlijk bij ons om de hoek....

Nu weer terug naar m'n scrapprojecten want de deadline is morgen!

Nick & Simon!

TUUT TUUT TUUT ben nog helemaal hyper!
Gisteravond was echt onwijs te gek!!!
Het feest was super gaaf, maar het toppunt was toch wel het optreden van Nick en Simon...
Ik had niet mijn goede camera meegenomen, want dat is zo'n gedoe als je wilt feesten, dus deze foto's zijn gemaakt met een oud beestje, maar dat mag de pret niet drukken. Deze foto is NIET ingezoomd, ik stond echt ZO DICHT BIJ!

Ze speelden nummers als 'Een nieuwe dag', 'Rosanne', 'Verloren', 'De Soldaat', maar ook hun nieuwste single 'Vlinders' van het nieuwe album Fier.

Helaas hadden ze maar heel weinig tijd, omdat ze ook nog moesten optreden in het Gelredome bij het MEGA Piratenfestijn. Dus er was ook geen tijd om foto's te maken. Na het optreden moesten ze razendsnel de auto in en weg naar Arnhem. Gelukkig wilde Jan (lijkt echt sprekend op Nick, maar is niet zijn broertje) nog even vlug een foto maken van mij en Nick.
Ben dus echt een van de weinige die op de foto mocht. Die mocht toch niet ontbreken in het rijtje van Frans Duijts en Guus Meeuwis ;) Want het is wel de leukste :P

Ik was helemaal door het dolle heen toen m'n moeder ook nog handtekeningen voor me geregeld had! Zelf durfde ik dat natuurlijk weer niet, want daarvoor moest ik naar boven en als je 32 bent ga je toch niet achter je idolen aan rennen?!?! HAHA....Ja ik weet het..... ben net een puber, maar ik vind ze gewoon leuk!!!

Maar we hebben het super gezellig gehad, dit is niet te overtreffen...

It's been way to long since I've posted my last post.
I can hardly find the time to do so.

Last night I went out with the girls. We had a great dinner and went to see the new Dutch movie 'De Eetclub'. I heard some negative comments on the movie, but it was really awesome, a true thriller with a lot of famous Dutch actors.
If you have any doubts, don't hesitate and just go and see it!

I'm a very lucky girl this weekend....
Yesterday I had a great time with the girls, tomorrow I will meet Nick & Simon!!!
How cool is that! I'm looking forward to it for over a year now and tomorrow it's actually going to happen!!!

Day four, on schedule

Here I am, having breakfast again. I was complaining about my two cracottes with sandwichspread, but this moring I can only have ONE with some 20+ cheese....
But the good news is, I'm on schedule! I've done this book several time allready and I know, when I do everything by the book I can loose 2,2 kilo's in the first week. I lost 1,7 in just four days, so no complaining about that ;)

Since we're so busy at the store I barely have time to feel hungry so that helps.
The new webshop is going to be awesome, it looks fantastic and has many cool features! We are so proud of it!

Day two, boost

I've suvived the first day!
I need a boost to get started and keep me motivated and this morning I could write down -/- 0,5kg in my agenda! I must admit I walked over an hour yesterday with my mother in law and I had allready been on the crosstrainer yesterday morning.
Usually I don't have time to excercise that much, but I just needed the boost.

It certainly helps me right now, when I'm eating two cracottes with sandwichspread (who came up with that stupid idea for breakfast?!?! Yeah I know... Sonja)
Sure hope they'll get me trough the morning :(

At least I have a whole lot of work to do, since we're busy filling the new webshop. So I don't have to be bored and start looking for a snack...

Day one

Today I start all over again....
dieting that is.

For our wedding I lost 25 kilo's (app. 50 pounds), but now, 15 months later, I gained over 15 kilo's again and I'm fed up with it.
I have to stop it. And believe me, I've allready tried, but it's so hard!
People around me giving me good advices and I've tried from no carbohydrates to a regular eating pattern (typically Dutch, bread in the morning, in the afternoon and vegetables, meat and potatoes for dinner) but I keep growing and growing.
So now I'm back to Sonja again. I hate it and Henri hates me for it, cause it absolutely makes me cranky and hungrily but I know it will work eventhough it's just for a while.
There's just no other way for me to loose weight. And I hate standing in front of my closet not being able to wear what I want. To discover that there's almost nothing left that fits. It feels like my kilo's are taking over control and manage my energie level like they own it. I'm done with it! It has to stop! So Sonja again it is...

I decided to promiss myself a little gift for every 5 kilo's and something special when I reach my goal, 20 kilo's. I've did it three times before, so I know I can!

This morning, right out of bed, I started crosstraining in the addict and my first Sonja breakfast is a fact. I wrote down my weight in my agenda again (arg... hard to face) and took a picture. Here I go again!

If you see me wearing these clothes again, you'll know Sonja & I did it again...

The first one was when I was teaching American Crafts at the Castle and the second one during the make & take. We made fabric flowers with a handmade paper brad, using the I-top, in the middle.

Not one single picture of the greatest weekend of the year!
I've been so busy teaching, assisting and taking care, I didn't even took the time to take pictures! I hope the girlz have been taking pictures for me....

I really had a great time, although I must admit I'm exhausted by now.
But it's my day off so now I have time to sit down and think of all the wonderful moments during the event.

It was my first big event and there was even more to it than I expected. But it was also much more fun than I expected. People asking for my signature and taking pictures and all the queens, princesses, dutchesses and lady's have been so nice to me! Thank all of you for this wonderful weekend!

Thursday Jan, Matthew and Don from Bo Bunny arrived and it was a real pleasure meeting them. After talking to Jan I really think I need to do some yoga excersises again :). Don I hope you've enjoyed yourself, you're the best taperunner ever :).

Friday I met Jill and Kimber (hi girls, especially in English for you ;P ) and I'm glad I had the chanche to chat with them for a while (never will forget about the donkeybrigde, hehe). They're so nice and talented with such a sence of humor. It took me two days to figures out kimber is the one that writes jillibeans blogspost with the flower on the i (shame on me...) hope you'll forgive me for that!
Maybe I'm not allowed to, but I do want to mention that I was stunned when the kits from Jillibean came in, Pasta Fagioli was one of my favorites, the fresh bright colors, but also the design of the mini album. And everything so well organised.
Thanks girls for letting me dig through your projects yesterday, I'm not really a cardmaker, but you've inspired me to try again :)

Yesterday I was glas to assist Tracie during two of her classes besides teaching my own. She's a great teacher and I love being her assistent and acting like a stewardess :D. The girls who've joined the class will know what I'm talking about.
We were so happy she did came over although her husband is in such a poor condition. She'll propably be with him again by now and I wish them all the best and fast recovery.

I believe it's absolutely true when I say the Papergirlz are the best girlz on the planet. Jolan an Sam you're such a die hards! Thank you so much for the laughs, the tears, your friendship and the food ;)

This weekend you've been teaching your first classes and from what I've heard, you did fantastic. You were a Queen but I doubt if we made you feel like one.... You've helped us in so many ways!
I know Lea and Ingrid you were there as well, I saw you in a glimps, nothing more than that, but thanks for being there!

Scrapbook Magazine 32

Vanaf morgen ligt Scrapbook Magazine 32 in de brievenbus bij de abonnees.
Ook in dit nummer staan weer een aantal layouts van mij.
Het is het 'debuutnummer' voor ons nichtje Vera en voor model in spé Danielle.
Met baby foto's van beide dames heb ik layouts gemaakt met het schattige New Arrival van Pebbles Inc.
De foto's die ik in mei heb laten maken bij de Douglas heb ik verwerkt op Love Nest papier van Glitz.
Ook van Indy staat er weer een layout in, hiervoor heb ik My Minds Eye Lost & Found gebruikt.

Nog anderhalve week

Alle voorbereidingen zijn werkelijk in volle gang.
Nog minder dan anderhalve week en dan is het tijd voor sprookjes :)
Nou ja... voor de deelnemers aan het fairytale event dan. Die kunnen zich lekker in de watten laten leggen het hele weekend.
Tussen alle dozen nieuw materiaal door zijn we bezig met het pakken van de kits en alle administratieve voorbereidingen voor het event.
Zelf geef ik twee workshops van 1 blok.
Heb er helemaal zin in!

Fairytale

Het aftellen is begonnen!
Nog 1 maand vol voorbereidingen, maar 1, 2 en 3 oktober is het zover....
Het Fairytale Event van Paper & Pictures.
Een heel weekend scrappen & verwennen. Alle materialen druppelen binnen dus kunnen we beginnen aan het pakken van de kits. En die zijn echt TOP! Elke workshop heeft een super goed gevuld pakket, geweldig!
Naast de buitenlandse teachers Tracie Hudson, Jill Yegenlehner, Kimber McGray, Jan & Matthew Lenoy geven ook een aantal Papergirlz workshops. Monique Jacobs heeft de exclusieve planner voor de Queens voorbereid en geeft de workshop Sew Stitched met vele Maya Road producten, kantjes en vele bijpassende embellishments. Kim Knijpert heeft een geweldig gaaf jaaralbum gemaakt met het spetterende Glitz! Jolanda en Sam maken er samen met jullie een feestje van met de B-day Bash collectie van Imaginisce. Loes de Groot is met My Minds Eye Union Square aan de slag gegaan en heeft een prachtig canvas mini album gemaakt. Zelf geef ik twee workshops. Met het frisse City Park van American Crafts maken we twee layouts aan de hand van sketches met diverse technieken. Sinds deze week hebben we ook goedkeuring van Cosmo Cricket voor een workshop met de nieuwe collectie Togehterness. En ik kan je zeggen, deze kit is echt bommetje vol! Bijna jammer dat we alleen maar tijd hebben voor een layout en een klein miniboekje. Maar..... dan blijft er genoeg over om thuis zelf nog meer te maken met deze bijzondere lijn!

Prettig weekend!

Drukke week

De laatste week van de vakantie is voorbij gevlogen! We wilden nog zoveel dingen doen en we zijn lang niet aan alles toegekomen.
Maandag was m'n moeder jarig dus had ik nog even snel een cadeautje gemaakt.
Het voordeel van de blokken van Tilda is dat er meerdere vellen van een dessin in zitten dus heb ik het boek ook ingepakt in scrappapier!

Dinsdag was Sammie jarig (alweeeer gebak :P )dus ben ik even naar de winkel geweest. Trui en Jolan waren toen net geland uit Amerika dus we mochten gelijk nieuwe spulletjes uitzoeken voor de nieuwe SBM.
Voordat de meiden gingen had ik al een verzoek ingediend voor de nieuwste Pebbles Inc collectie 'New Arrival' en geweldige baby collectie in zachte pastels en hele leuke vilten embellishments. Aangezien er om me heen alleen mijn meisjes geboren zijn heb ik de roze variant gebruikt voor een aantal schattige layouts.

Toen ik de nieuwe lijnen van Glitz zag móest ik die ook gewoon hebben. Lekker stoer, eigenwijs, maar toch vrouwelijk en een tikkeltje nostalgisch. Mooi dubbelzijdig papier met een vintage accent en veel kleurrijke embellishments zoals stickers, rubons, tulle, hele gave rubons en per stuk verpakte stempels. Ik heb gekozen voor de 'Love Nest' collectie want die vond ik perfect passen bij de foto's van m'n Douglas fotoshoot. De layouts heb ik al helemaal af en ik ben echt verslaafd. Het is dat ik al m'n papier op heb, maar ik kan zo nog een paar uur door scrappen met dit TOP merk!

Last but nog least heb ik één van de lijnen uit de Lost & Found serie van My Minds Eye om mee aan de gang te gaan. Het borrelt al volop, maar moet eerlijk zeggen dat ik nog niks vast geplakt heb. Hoewel My Minds Eye altijd een heel sterk en constant merk is, moet ik zeggen dat ze zichzelf deze keer écht overtroffen hebben. Ik heb de Market Street Princess (yep, weer roze :D), maar alle series uit deze lijn zijn geweldig. Mooie papieren met een subiele glitter en heel veel bijpassende kaartjes en embellishments om je project compleet te maken.

Alleen daar ben ik de hele week al druk mee geweest :)

Woensdag zijn we naar de Spakenburgse dagen geweest.De Spakenburgse Dagen zijn vooral beroemd geworden om de bijzondere wijze waarop ze ieder jaar weer worden georganiseerd. Veel aandacht gaat daarbij uit naar het tot z’n recht laten komen van de kleurrijke klederdracht die in de gemeente Bunschoten, waar ook Spakenburg toe hoort, sinds vele generaties gedragen wordt. Vrouwen in klederdracht zijn nog steeds een dagelijks, vertrouwd beeld. Op de Spakenburgse Dagen zijn ook veel mannen en vooral veel kinderen weer in de dracht gestoken en zo doen de inwoners samen de oude cultuur herleven.

Er wordt gedanst, er is een bruiloftsoptocht, nieuwe en oude vormen van de klederdracht worden gepresenteerd, er worden netten geboet, scheepsmodellen getoond en visveilingen gehouden. Er is muziek, een poppenkastvoorstelling voor de kleintjes, een clown voor de wat grotere kinderen. Er is een draaimolen, er zijn oude ambachten, acties op de grote warenmarkt en bij de winkeliers. Het was voor ons de eerste keer dat we er geweest zijn, maar het was erg gezellig!

Donderdag heb ik lekker kunnen scrappen en zijn we met z'n tweeen uit eten geweest en naar de film. Even ouderwets samen uit. De film Salt ging in premiere en die wilde ik graag zien. Een aanrader voor de actie liefhebbers!
Evelyn Salt is een CIA-agent die vlucht voor de CIA. Tijdens een ondervraging met een overgelopen Russische spion, waarschuwt de spion voor een complot tegen de President van de Verenigde Staten. Hij heeft het over een KGB-agente met de naam Evelyn Salt die de president zal proberen te vermoorden. Op dat moment vlucht agent Salt voor de CIA, om haar naam te zuiveren.

Vrijdag hadden we familie dag en zijn we met pa & ma en Marcel en Anthea naar de Midgetgolftuinen in Lage Vuursche geweest en hebben we pannekoeken gegeten. Een hilarische dag waar ik nog geen foto's van kan laten zien want m'n moeder is de enige die foto's gemaakt heeft. Wij waren namelijk zo slim om geen camera kaartje in het toestel te doen.....

Ter afsluiting van de vakantie zijn we zaterdagavond met alle vrienden uit eten geweest en hebben we tot laat gefeest. Je snapt dat we gisteren bij moesten komen van deze actie :D

Tja... en nu is het alweer maandag en ga ik morgen kijken wat voor werk er op me ligt te wachten!

Zo... we kunnen weer!

Hè hè... we kunnen weer!
De laatste weken keek ik toch wel erg uit naar de vakantie. Op het laatste moment hebben we toch nog een vakantie geboekt naar mijn geliefde Gran Canaria. Lekker 8 dagen helemaal niks doen. Alleen wandelen, zonnen, zwemmen en eten :)
Dit keer zijn we niet naar Costa Meloneras geweest, maar naar een ander hotel van Lopesan: Villa del Conde.
Een hotel wat een typisch Canarisch dorpje voor stelt. Met allemaal verschillende huisjes, barretjes en het hoofd gebouw stelt de kapel voor. Alles was perfect voor elkaar, we hebben super weer gehad, ontzettend lekker gegeten (ja, ik kan weer aan de Sonja), veel over de Varadero boulevard gelopen en geshopt en uiteraard ook in de zon gelegen, gelezen en gepuzzeld.
Kortom echt tot rust gekomen en weer helemaal bijgetankt.

De wasmachine maakt momenteel overuren en ik kijk uit naar deze week. Truike en Jolanda komen terug uit Amerika en hebben natuurlijk de nieuwste collecties bij zich, ik heb weer inspiratie genoeg dus ben er klaar voor!

En vandaag is mijn mams jarig! Gefeliciteerd moeders!

Oranje boven!

Wij (lees Trui, Jolan, Sam en ik) zijn alle vier geen echte voetbal fans, toch hebben we afgelopen maandag allemaal het voetbal gevolgd. Zelf zat ik op mijn scrapkamer met een bakje rood/wit/blauw/oranje M&M's de wedstrijd te volgen op internet terwijl ik nog bezig was om de laatste hand te leggen aan mijn workshop voor morgen. (Ik had gehoopt dat 'mijn' stempels binnen zouden zijn die ik wilde verwerken in m'n album, maar de zendig is niet goed gegaan, dus ik moest op het laatste moment nog het e.e.a aanpassen. Maar hij is niet minder leuk geworden hoor!)
Op de een of andere manier willen we toch op de hoogte blijven van 'onze jongens'.
Speciaal voor het WK hebben we dan ook een oranje tafel ingericht. De meiden hebben het werk gedaan en ik heb de foto's gemaakt :)
Toch wel gezellig dat voetbal.....
Morgen spelen 'we' tegen Japan en ik heb voor de gelegenheid een mooi oranje shirt gescoord om aan te trekken.
In de winkel kun je trouwens ook scoren, want als je onze nieuwsbrief gehad hebt, kun je de oranje coupon uitprinten voor 19% korting! Deze actie geldt ook vanavond en zondag, dus je hoeft de wedstrijd niet te missen om in aanmerking te komen voor de korting :D

Zo...het staat er weer op! Vandaag is de fotograaf weer geweest voor het fotograferen van de nieuwe Scrapbook Magazine.
Een hele tafel vol met projecten van de meiden die weer ontzettend hun best gedaan hebben om er een spetterend nazomer nummer van te maken. Nu dat achter de rug is kan ik me focussen op de workshop van aankomende zaterdag. Ik had nog voor 2 extra kits materiaal bij elkaar gesprokkeld, dus nog twee plaatsen over, maar die zijn vandaag geboekt, dus we zitten gezellig vol.
Meiden als jullie dit lezen... zullen we er een oranje feestje van maken zaterdag!?!

Er is ook een zending binnen gekomen uit Amerika met heeeel veel ponsen en eindelijk de floral stansen van Tim!

het is alweer weekend!

Het is echt niet te geloven zo snel als alles gaat. Ik heb alweer weekend!
Geen workshop morgen, want Monique geeft 'Romance in a box' die we wegens succes ook volgende week vrijdag geven en dan ben ik volgende week zaterdag weer aan de beurt.
Ik heb een romantisch canvas album gemaakt in een craft tas, die ook weer met canvas bekleed is. Hoewel ik nog met smart wacht op de super gave nieuwe stempels van Hero Arts is het album nu al helemaal leuk. Zoals jullie misschien wel weten ben ik niet zo'n fan van borduren, dus daar heb ik wat op gevonden ;)
Het wachten is dus nu nog op m'n stempels, dus ik hoop dat ze op tijd zijn!
Ik heb er wel helemaal zin en als het net zo gezellig wordt als afgelopen zaterdag is het weer feest...

Ik heb afgelopen week heel veel gescrapt want morgen is alweer de deadline voor de volgende Scrapbook Magazine. En ik was lekker op dreef. Heb layouts gemaakt met de nieuwste Fancy Pants collectie, Wishful Thinking. Een layout met Pink Paislee, layouts en mini album met de Pebbles collectie May Bouquet en ook een layout en mini mini met Pebbles Twitterpated. Het is de eerste keer dat ik iets maak met Pebbles, maar ik vind het helemaal leuk. Lekker fris en veelzijdige collecties.

Over frisse collecties gesproken. Het is dat ik geen tijd meer heb, maar anders had ik ook zeker wat willen maken met de nieuwe Bo Bunny lijnen die gisteren binnen gekomen zijn. De Peacock en Petal Pushers lijnen worden zeker mijn volgende slachtoffers!

Het was dus druk gisteren in de winkel. We hadden naast de 4 nieuwe Bo Bunny collecties ook nog Magnolia stempels en papier binnen gekregen, en weer nieuwe bloemen van Prima Marketing en Truike was naar de groothandel geweest, dus moesten er ook weer nieuwe lintjes en e.d. de winkel in. Tja.... eigenlijk geen wonder dat de tijd dan zo snel gaat!

Vandaag was de workshop Tapas Hap en o o o wat was het lekker!
We hebben een geweldig album gemaakt met allemaal heerlijke tapas recepten die Wieb de man van Truike voor ons gemaakt had.
Ze waren echt voortreffelijk!
Heb een hele leuke en gezellige dag gehad, dit was zeker voor herhaling vatbaar :)

Nu weer snel verder met m'n projecten voor de volgende Scrapbook Magazine.....

Helemaal trots!

Want ik ben een cover girl! Of eigenlijk mijn nichtje Indy, want het is haar foto die prijkt op de voorkant van de nieuwe Scrapbook Magazine die morgen bij de abonnees op de mat valt!

Ik ontwerp alweer twee jaar voor Paper&Pictures en dit is m'n eerste cover, dus ik ben er heel trots op. Toen Heleen de jpg stuurde was ik helemaal blij en heb eerst gevraagd of hij al definitief was. Nu ik het blad ook echt in m'n handen heb, is het helemáal super :D

In dit nummer, het is al nummer 30!, vind je ook de projecten van de nieuwe Papergirlz die onlangs onderdeel van ons team zijn geworden. Stuk voor stuk zijn het unieke projecten die ze hebben ingeleverd. Heerlijk romantisch van Wendela; bijzonder vintage van Meriam; fris en stoer van Loes; technisch, mannelijk en nostalgisch van Soraya. Meiden gefeliciteerd met jullie debuut! Natuurlijk hebben de andere Papergirlz ook weer fantastische items gemaakt in de stijl die je van hen gewend bent. Kortom: dit nummer wil en mag je niet missen....

Ik weet het, het is stil op m'n blog....
Ben de laatste tijd veel thuis bezig geweest en heb niet veel gescrapt en niet veel foto's gemaakt. Ik ben wel bezig met twee workshops: 'Tapas hap' en 'Life & Stitch'. Beide heel verschillend want Tapas is echt zomers en temperamentvol en Life & Stitch is romantisch en een tikkeltje vintage. Er zijn nog een aantal plaatsen beschikbaar, dus als je zin hebt....

Volgende week kan ik jullie de cover laten zien van de nieuwe Scrapbook Magazine. Stay tuned....

Het was SUPER!

Afgelopen weekend was super zwaar, maar wel GEWELDIG!
Vrijdag en zaterdag was het 3e Magnolia Event bij Paper & Pictures en het was absoluut een succes. Bedankt dames voor jullie enthousiasme en gezelligheid!

Zaterdagavond hadden we met een aantal vrienden een 'Goet Foud' feest georganiseerd en de dresscode was natuurlijk hoe fouter, hoe beter...
We hadden niet verwacht dat het zo'n succes zou zijn, iedereen had z'n best gedaan iets 'fouts' te scoren en de hilariteit was groot toen de stellen binnen kwamen druppelen.
Henri had een heuse draaitafel gemaakt en voor de gelegenheid een mengpaneeltje aangeschaft en was Mr DJ zaterdag. Zelf heb ik ook even achter de knoppen gestaan en ik kan je zeggen, dat valt nog niet mee om steeds weer iets nieuws te verzinnen!

Het was super, maar ik ben blij dat ik het deze week wat rustiger aan kan doen :)

Cards Only 13 is uit!
De magazines zijn gisteren verzonden aan de abonnees. Met een beetje geluk heb je 'm dus vandaag al in de bus en anders zaterdag.
Het nummer staat weer boordevol kaarten en leuke projecten om op te sturen of om zelf te houden ;)
De stijlen zijn weer heel divers, dus er zit voor iedereen wel wat leuks bij!

I just love to see the sun shining the whole day!
Eventhough I can't be outside and I know the wind is cold, the fact that I can see the sun makes me happy.

I have no pictures to share with you although I've been very busy creating all sorts of projects.
Last Wednesday we've photographed Scrapbook Magazine 30. I've created several layouts and a mini for this issue.
Besides that I've been working on the upcoming workshops.

For the Magnolia Spring Event 2010 I've created a baby boy and baby girl gift project. Ofcourse in light blue and light pink :)
I'm allowed to share a sneak with you next week....

On May 22th I'm teaching the workshop 'Bee a canvas queen'.
A beautiful Pink Paislee album, using their rubons, chipboard alphabet, brads, artisan tape, beautiful Prima Marketing ribbon and Zva swirls.
We've planned this album a while ago, but all the stuff came in yesterday.

Today is the last day of our renovation. Within a few minutes they will be here to put the new carpet in (which will propably take all day) and than I can finally start cleaning and decorating... what a relief :)

Last weekend Tracie came over to teach several workshops at Paper & Pictures. I really admire her work, she's so talented and I loved spending time with her.
I'm so glad she'll be back in October again!

It's been a week already!
Can anyone please tell me how to create more time....
It's just unbelievable how fast things go at the moment. There are so many things that needs to be done in so little time.
Guess you all have to deal with that problem, but I still can't get used to it.

But lots of great things. Like I told in last post, we're working on something BIG ;P
In the meantime we're trying to keep you inspired....
Have you seen the new Scrapbook Magazine 29 yet? It's stuffed with projects made with the hottest material, hot of the press.... Some clean, some vintage, some cool, some romantique. If you don't have a subscription you can buy it at Paper & Pictures already. This Sunday the store is open from 11.00 till 16.00 so you can lay your hands on the hottest stuff right away...

I'd like to share another sneak of Tracies workshop as well.
We will be playing with one of Primas new Canvas Build a Books, along with a host of gorgeous Prima papers and plenty of blooms and bling. All of which, when put together, create a very tactile and textured family themed mini book.
As well as the minibook class, she'll be teaching two layout classes, which will of course use lots of the newest releases from Prima. :D

And last, but certainly not least the Magnolia Spring Event on May 7th and 8th.
I've prepared a super cute project (or should I say projects?!?) I'm sure you'll fall in love with. So don't hesitate to long and sign in soon, otherwise all spots will be taken and you'll have to miss the cutest project and limited edition stamp...
Nina and Moon are also preparing items for this event and if you know these talented girls, you know they'll come up with something great!

Great activities coming up

Yesterday Truike & I were brainstorming and came up with some awesome workshops and activities for the next couple of months. And when I say awesome, I mean AWESOME!

We're busy arranging everything, but hope to be able to tell you more pretty soon.

I can tell you that we having another MAGNOLIA Spring Event and that Magnolia is creating a special stamp for Paper & Pictures again. How cool is that!
The event is May 7th and 8th in 'De Koningshof' the event center across the street. We're going to make 3 lovely projects during the main courses and 1 make & take in the store. This time the three projects are created by 3 different teachers, so you can be sure to go home with 3 new styles and techniques on your projects.
Ofcourse the projects are made with Magnolia stamps, paper and embellishments and you'll get your very own limited edition Magnolia stamp!

From the 6th till the 11th of April it's party time at Paper & Pictures!

Just a quick post

Things are quite hectic at the moment so I'll only have time for a quick post.
We're redecorating the bedrooms and the stairs so everything is covered with white dust and all sorts of painting materials. The painter came two weeks earlier than expected so not everything is ready yet. We're trying to keep ahead of him with things like pulling out the carpet, moving stuff so he can reach everything. And we still have to order some things like curtains, wallpaper, etc.
I can't stand the mess so when I get home from work I'm also busy cleaning. Good thing it will only take a few weeks...

Today we received another 19 boxes with new scrappin' materials.
A lot of beautiful collections including Bo Bunny, ZVA, My Little Shoebox, The Greeting Farm, My Little Yellow Bicycle ánd TPC Studio.
I had the oppertunity to work with 'The Moroccan Market' collection for the next Scrapbook Magazine(29) and I just love the colors!
I tried to download a collection picture, but that took to long so if your curious, go check out their website...

And have you read about the Prima Marketing workshop Tracie Hudson will teach on the 9th, 10th and 11th of April?!?

Don't move...

As long as I don't move and don't eat, I can manage....
And believe me, if I can't eat, there something terribly wrong.
It wasn't such a good idea afterall, going to work on Wednesday. Maybe if I'd stayed at home one more day, I would have felt a lot better than I am now.
Yesterday was really aweful, I had to stay in bed all day and couldn't even walk or turn around. Right now I can manage to sit up as long as I don't move too much.
Good thing I have my laptop to keep me company today so I played a little with my blog background ;)

I was suppost to go out yesterday with some of the girls. But instead of eating sushi and other asian yummies, Henri made me vegetable soup.
After having only one 'Sultana' yesterday I really needed something salt and light. Although Henri's had a long day at work, he went to the store and bougth some fresh ingredients and made me soup! No not just out of a can, but homemade. It was delicious and just what I needed to gain some strength.
You may think, what's so special about it? Well.. He never makes soup. The proof is in the fact that it looks more like macaroni today because of the large amount of vermicelli in it :D but you don't hear me complaining! I actually think it's kinda cute.. Thank you sweetie, you're the best!

I planned on giving the girls a little something, but they'll have to wait till I get better...

has been the littlest room of the house yesterday.
Although I do like to stay home and do nothing every once in a while, I hate it when the reason is being ill. Finally the sun is shining and I had to stay in bed and close within reach of certain facilities :(

It seems like the worst is gone by so I'm going to try to reach work today. A little bit later as usual, since I want to avoid traffic jam....
Hopefully there will be some new stuff in to cheer me up :)

Today I'd like to share one of my layouts I submitted for the Lily Bee call.
I've used the Vintage Poppy collection papers, die-cuts and rubons.

The picture is showing my little niece. She’s sitting on her new bike our grandma gave her for her second birthday.
The layout is al about edges. I’ve used various edges using punches, the diecut, hand-stitching, sewing machine stitches, straight edges, scallop edges.
The butterflies are stamped on patterned paper and cut out. I’ve folded the wings a little bit, to bring them to life.
The little ‘falling hearts’ are the left overs of an edge punch. They look like falling flower petals...

Hey there, hope you are enjoying your weekend.
I've worked so hard the last two week, I treated myself on a pyama-day.
Stayed in bed till ten o'clock, walked around in my pyama all day and did nothing but scrapping. Loved it!

Today the new Cards Only 12 arrived in the store.
It's the third Cards Only again in which I'm pubbed :)
I love the variety of cards and projects in this one. So many different styles and new ideas! And look at Nina's cover card, ain't he sweet!?!

We're incredibly busy in the store. Magnolia is on the way and today we received 6 boxes of Prima Marketing! Including the new collection papers, swirls, albums, alphabet stickers and loads of gorgeous flowers! (O how I love my job :) )

Tons of new stuff

It took us all day yesterday, and we're not finished yet....
Tons of new scrap stuff came in and everything has to be checked, priced and put into the store and in the webshop. I just love the hectic around that.
There's Teresa Collins, Best Creation, Graphic45, more Magnolia stamps and magazines, American Crafts, Martha Stewart, Nikki Sivils....We want everything in before the big demo tomorrow.
I'll show various sorts of flowers tomorrow, with different kind of techniques and materials.

Some things to cheer up

The snow was melting today and the sun tried to get through the coulds.
It won't be for long, but it's a start....

Yesterday Kim, one of our new Papergirlz, came to the store to get all the things for her workshop 'Mini Tote & Album' on March 6th.
We have been waiting for weeks and yesterday the thick felt for the tote finally arrived. So she can start creating the tote at last. Ofcourse the idea was there all along and now I've seen all the materials together I'm totally in love.
I'm sure it's going to be an awesome workshop. So if you want to create a fabulous tote 'a la Kim' for yourself (have you seen her bag in Scrapbook Magazine?!?!) hurry up, cause the amount of felt is limited (and with that the spots as well).

Today I've counted and priced all the new Martha Stewart punches. Pffff... that wasn't easy... So many new punches!! I have no time to update the webshop. So if you'd like to see them, you'll have to come over...

And I'm sure I can't find time tomorrow either because right after closing time today a very large shipment of 19 boxes came in from Amerika.
I always love opening all the boxes. Ofcourse I know what's coming, but it's still a little party when you can hold the hottest stuff in your hands ;D
So tomorrow I'll be busy unpacking and pricing.
In the shipment is also Nikki Sivils, a new brand in our store. Very cool and I know Lea and Ingrid already created stunning layouts with these collections for the next Scrapbook Magazine (no29: April/May).

About the SBM29, Fons our photographer was in the store today to shoot all the beautiful new projects of all the Papergirlz. Amazing layouts and gorgeous mini albums, great job girlz!

Please, let it stop...

No, this time I'm not talking about the snow, although I do wish the blame it on the weather.
Last night my collegue and friend Sam has lost her dad, totally unexpected.
Not only am I sorry for her loss, but for all my friends who have lost their loved ones in the past few weeks. All around me people have to say their last goodbye to the people they love and my heart aches when I see their sorrow.
I secretly hope that when to sun starts shining everything will be less sad. And that it gives them strength to deal with their emotions.
I usually never blog about the sad things in life, but I want you girls to know ýou're in my thoughts and that I wish you all the strength you need for you and your loved ones.

I just came home from shopping (I just hád to get that spring feeling, I'm so tired of all the snow and ice...) and look what my sweet Valentine bought for me...

So cute! Thank you mannetje, I love you!!
I had these roses in my wedding bouquet, a little more than 7 months ago allready...
I love how big they are and they will become even bigger. They look so pretty in bloom.

One of my layouts for CHA was with Couture Cardstock and Graphic45 'Le Romantique' and it was displayed on the booth of Graphic45.
The background is Couture Cardstock, with a beautiful ray of marble, which looks a lot like our wedding cake.
Our cake made by 'Patisserie Hartog' was really beautiful white cake, with white roses on top. It had a peach creme stuffing which tasted delicious.

I wrote the text on Couture Cardstock as well. This kraft cardstock has a cool texture. I'm not sure weather you can see it on the picture, but trust me, it's fab!

Graphic45 Design Team call

Graphic 45 is looking for Paper Artists!
It's that time, Graphic 45 is building a new team for 2010! And we are looking for a wide variety of skills, so be sure to show us what you got! Don't be shy, get out the scissors, grab some adhesive and get busy!

As a Graphic45 design team member you will receive:

* A box of Graphic45 product supplied every three months including new products that are coming!
* Receive product periodically from our education partners and for blog hops
* Your name, bio and headshot featured on the Graphic45 main website
* Prominent exposure on the community site, blog, main website gallery and other media
* Possible teaching, publication and manufacturing opportunities
* Eligible to participate in creating projects for trade shows, such as CHA and other venues.

What are we looking for?
Graphic45 paper and products are unique and vintage in nature, so we are looking for a variety of team members that can produce high quality cards, layouts, altered art and home decor projects that show off our papers and future embellishments.

Our team is education based, so we will need you to have good photography skills, the ability to create tutorials with instructions and size images for blog and website use.

This call is open to International and domestic applicants. For International applicants, you will need to have a project ready to ship if you are chosen due to the shipping time.

How do I apply to be on the team?
Our design team search will consist of two rounds. Please read the entire contents of both rounds, as there is quite a bit of information.

First Round
Email the following to candy@g45papers.com by March 1st, 2010.

- Full Contact Information, include your blog/website address
- Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your design strengths are
- Tell us why you want to be on the Graphic45 design team
- List any companies that you have designed for in the past or currently work with. Please keep in
mind that being on a team past or present is not a requirement.
- Include images of a minimum of ten (10) projects up to 15 if you are including close ups, they can be cards, layouts, altered or home decor. Please send images at 72 dpi and no larger than 1000 pixels on the longest side.

We would like to see what you do with Graphic45 paper, however, you are free to submit several projects that are non Graphic45 as long as they are representative of your style.

We will be choosing 20 finalists from all applications. These 20 finalists will be contacted by March 5th with additional information on our final round.

Final Round

The 20 finalists will be required to send one completed (1) project directly to the corporate office in Portland, Oregon for review by Graphic45 staff including Diane Schultz, the CEO and designer of our products. Please note: this item will not be returned, keep this in mind when creating your final project and it must be mailed by March 12th in order to receive in our office by March 19th.

Once we receive all projects, we will review them and make the announcement on APRIL 1st and get the design team boxes out!

We look forward to seeing what you bring to table, show us what you got! Don't be shy, we are looking for a variety of skills and you may be who we are looking for!

Yesterday I was still waiting for my 'strike a pose' picture with Tim, but here it is! :)

It's unbelievable how many patience Tim has with his 'fans'. He's never tired of posing or people taking pictures of him. He does his job with so much enthousiasme, it's just contagious! I can't help it, I'm just a BIG fan :D

Today was just awesome!
One of the great things about my job is visiting classes to learn all about new materials and techniques. And today I went 'back to school'.... together with Jolanda and Sammie we joined TIM HOLTZ his class!!!
I looked forward to this since the day I knew he was coming to The Netherlands and today was the day! I met him before, while he was doing a demo, but today he was teaching classes and I was so lucky to join two of his classes.
First class was all about Distress Ink, we created 5 tags with different techniques using Distress Ink, Crackle paint, Grunge paper, Stickles and his awesome new stamps.
The second class was all about Alcohol Ink and Paint Dabber techniques. Again five tags, with various ways to use the products. I just can't wait to share it with you all! So many cool stuff! And the new colors Distress Ink are so gorgeous... they are exactly the colors you miss while you want to complete your project in a shabby way.

Ofcourse we learned other things, like using the new feature on the Slice with the magnatic plate (a brilliant invention), we watched the Gypsie of Provocraft. Worked with the new Tattered Angels products and saw a lot of new stuff.

Sammie made the pictures and I'm still waiting for the one of Tim and me posing :)

On the boardwalk

The layouts I've created for the booth of Graphic45 at CHA, made with the 'A Proper Gentleman' collection are going to be published, so unlike everybody else, I can't share them with you.
I had no time to create something with the new 'On The Boardwalk' collection for the show, but now I did had some time and created this first layout and card.

I know the pictures are bad, sorry, but the weather still isn't helping...

Wowwiee!!!!! I just grabbed these pictures from the Graphic45 blog!!

They are the actual proof of me being a part of the show! I know I'm not the only Dutch girl who's layouts were featured all the way over in the States, but I sure am proud of it!
Maybe when you look closely you recognise two of my layouts I created for the CHA winter 2010 in Anaheim... Both layouts are made with A Proper Gentleman Collection papers and Couture Cardstock.
I'm still searching for more pictures, but thanks Candy for sharing these with us!!

Desmo and some puppies of my own

Yesterday our friends picked up their puppy Desmo.
It's a she, but she's named after the motor of Stoner or Hayden if I'm correct.
I know cars usually have girls names, but I'm not so sure about the motors.
Anyway, Desmo is a 'Labradoodle' and I haven't seen her yet, but she seems to be adorable.
I wanted to stop by this morning to deliver this card and a bone, but since it's snowing AGAIN (!!) I stayed at home. Maybe the weather will be better this afternoon...

And I have some puppies of my own.
Look what my mom made me, aren't they cute!?!

A lot of excitement today!

I just created the Paper&Pictures newsletter and that made me realize there's going to be a lot of excitement today!

Truike will be back for CHA this afternoon and we're going to check out all the samples she brought, so we can make a schedule for the next magazines.
I just can't wait to see all the new stuff!
Tomorrow the Papergirlz will be in the store to 'drool' over the new stuff as well, so that's going to be a lot of fun...

Today we'll receive the new Scrapbook Magazine 28 in our store and subscribers will receive it this weekend or shorty after that as well.

The gorgeous project on the cover is from Marga Zoetman, who recently joined the Papergilz. Isn't it awesome!?!

There is also a new layout of the week. Last week Jolanda provided the layout and this week it is my turn again.

I always find it exciting when one of my projects is used. Will you girls like it and find it inspirational???

This week the new 'Tilda' will be shipped, and I am sooooo in love with it!
Besides the previous collections, we'll also receive the two new collections 'Flowergarden' and 'Kitchengarden'. I believe they are too cute, too sweet and too gorgeous! I'm jumping on my chair right now, I just HAVE TO HAVE it!

And look what I ordered as well..... there is something about me and Cameos.....

Yesterday I received this award from Reginne.
Usually I don't act on award, cause they take so much of your time. But Reginne's kind words made me blush! It does make me happy! Thanks girl! Since this is a long post already, I promiss to get back on it this weekend...

Relax.....

I've been putting to much weight on my shoulders lately and in combination with the typical Dutch cold weather I can tell you, I've been feeling better...
Nothing to complain about, but I just need to take some time to relax. So today I'm taking it easy :)

I've been trying to crochet lately and I wanted to share my first projects with you:

I'm so proud of myself, if I may say so :) I never crocheted before!
My mom helped me to get started and after trying a few cupcakes I figured it out!
Am I getting old, because I love the crochet in front of the tv in the evening?
Now I want to create some little dogs and I saw a lovely Hello Kitty.
And after seeing this..... I love to make some of these cuties as well.....

Past Saturday my brothers girlfriend turned 20. She loves the little Me to You bears, so I made her a card with this cute Popcorn stamp. I borrowed it from the Twins (tnx girls!) and colored it with Distress Ink.
I know the design isn't spectacular, but the stamp is cute :)

Saturday I gave the workshop School & More over at Paper&Pictures. We've created a mini using October Afternoon 'Report Card' papers and we created an old fashioned blackboard to store the album in. We had a great time!
My album is about the workshops I joined as a student and the foreign teachers I've met.

When were together with the papergirlz last week I asked Ingrid and Hanneke how they make the beautiful bows on their cards. They pointed out a youtube video for me and I'm hooked ever since. Trying to fold the perfect bow myself.
While doing so I discoverd this other video of Dawn McVey, where she's creating this lovely flower. So I grabbed my old book paper and punched out a flower myself:

Thanks ladies for the inspiration, I really needed it to give my mojo a boost! Suddenly I feel creative again!

Some more sneaks and good news

I finished my CHA projects yesterday, and have some more sneaks for you....

They will be revealed together with the project in the previous post on the CHA which starts this weekend in the USA.

The new Graphic45 collections are absolutely stunning and fantastic to work with.
With my kit also came some Couture Cardstock, which is also great. And has beautiful structure and colors. Sure hope to receive some more of that ;)

And YES! we have some good news!
Last Friday the Magnolia flowers came in and this week we're expecting the second Magnolia Magazine!

Workshop and CHA

I'm looking forward to my workshop next week.
I've been playing with October Afternoon Report Card and am very happy with the result. Like I said.... it's a 'genius' one :)

This week my package from Graphic45 arrived (finally) and the collections are absolutely gorgeous!!! I'm so happy to be part of their Design Team.
Although some people may say the papers are difficult to work with because of the sophiticated design, I believe it's a way of 'seeing' them. When you look closely, you can separate all the beautiful pictures and create a 'peaceful' project.
I truely believe that The Proper Gentleman collection and Le Romantique are the best collections ever! They really are my personal favorites.
I started creating right away to make some layout for the CHA, and I want to share this little sneak with you already:

Like I told you last Sunday, I created the Layout of the week for Paper & Pictures.
It's a new item in the store. And I've used some beautiful paper of The Robins Nest and pretty Prima Marketing flowers. Have you seen it yet?

Hey there everybody! Long time no see...
Sorry for being such a bad blogger. Family and social activities, but also deadlines and crocheting kept me from sharing my projects with you.
And I must say, I feel a little depressed. I keeps on snowing and freezing around here and I'm really sick and tired of it.

But ofcourse there are some good things as well.
First of all, the reveal of the three new collections from Graphic45.
And they are absolutely gorgeous!

Some of my October Afternoon Valentine cards are published, as well as a cute bag and card with my favorite Forever Friends stamp.
Tuesday is the deadline for the next magazine and I can tell you allready that i've finished some more Forever Friends cards. Ofcourse i'm not sure if they will be published, but I think they are adorable!

We have a new item in the store, called layout of the week.
Every two weeks we have a layout (and cards in the nearby future) highlighted on a special place in the store. It's displayed with all the materials you need to create/lift the layout. I've created this weeks layout with gorgeous papers of The Robin's Nest and used my all time favorite Tim hardware. So if you're nearby, have a look!

Besides that, I've been working on my next workshop on Januari 23, called School and More. It a 'genius' handmade mini album, hidden inside a special project. It has lots of tabs and hidden sleeves. I've used mainly October Afternoon Report Card papers, which inspired me to create this album. Ofcourse I've added all what was necessary to give the album the extra oempf, so that means a lot of embies.
I've used some techniques, but the technique is mainly in 'building' the album.

Le Romantique

Well the weather sure is romantique... snow all over the place....
Luckily I don't have to travel by car today. Henri and I went for a long winter walk today and I must admit that was nice.
Right now we're sitting on the couch, by the fireplace, candles, chocolates... very romantique as well..
And do you know what's also romantique?!?

Many people would disagree with me, but if there is one thing I absolutely hate.... it's snow....

It's cold, slippery and causes a lot of trouble and inconvenience.
Besides that it hampers my social life, cause I'm afraid of accidents.
And today I experienced another disadvantage...

As some of you may know, my husband is reet tatcher and when it rains, or snows, like today... He's not able to climb on the roof and go to work. Usually he gets up at 5.30 am and leaves the house at six. Well... when he stood up today and noticed the snow, he got back to bed. Nothing wrong about that you might think... But he wakes me up by stumbling around in the bedroom and if that's not enough... His collegues call to discuss what to do today.... Wait till it's dry, drive to the construction site and wait, organizing the Christmas drinks....
Can you feel it!?! I'm wide awake by now and he's sleeping like a baby :(

Sorry for nagging so early this morning, but I just hate the winter wonderland....

I do have some good news as well. Yesterday I posted the new workshop scheme online at www.paperandpictures.nl .
And.................. (hhsss... don't tell everyone yet....)
We've been working really, really, really hard to make sure that the new Cards Only (11) reaches you during the Christmas Holidays. That's NOT a promise, cause we have to depent on the printing office and the postman, but we're ready and have our fingers crossed......

Well be carefull today!

And it's Friday again...
I have finally found some time to sit down. Just send out the Paper&Pictures newsletter and wrapped up my Sinterklaas presents. And now I've decided to do something for my self...

I've created a sketch for www.truikebron.com this week and made a card and a layout with it. Heleen made a beautiful download out of it, which made me very proud. I've used the Christmas Past collection papers from Graphic45 and added some pink details.
So please have a look....

Scrapbook Magazine 27 is delivered, which means I can show you some work out of nr 26. Also Graphic45. I've used the Domestic Goddess collection papers.

It's been a while since my previous post.. I've been scrapping relaxed and have some projects to share. But unfortunately it's dark outside when I leave the house in the morning and it's dark again when I get home... So I can't take any pictures :(

Finally I have some time to relax. No deadlines for a few weeks and my next workshop isn't until December 18th and 19th. Two full classes!
So now I finally have the time to continue crocheting cupcakes. It's been a while and I find it difficult to catch up my skills again, but practice makes perfect right :)

Since all my recent projects are being published I don't have 'new' work to share with you.
But here's a layout using G45 transatlantique papers as published in Scrapbook Magazine 25.

Workshop Fall

On 31st of October I'm teaching the workshop Fall: spiders, pumpkins and a little halloween.
We are creating three projects that day. A mini album with a real cool technique, an autumn/halloween layout and a funny, scary card. In Holland we don't celebrate halloween, but next Saturday we do promiss you a spooky treat :)

The past few days I've been busy showing my new collegue Karin around in the store.
We had so much work to do and so many awesome new things coming up, that we definitly needed some extra hands. So Karin is going to take the load of things for me. She's going to assist us with the administration and the (new)webstore. I can assure you, that's a huge relief!
It seems like Karin has the same 'drive' as we have, so welcome to the 'girlz' girl!

Magnolia event is approaching and we are busy preparing everything. It's so excited that there's another unique stamp coming up!

Ofcourse there is the release of ScrapCards 3 'Cards & Gifts' first, which is also very excited. I've created a gift and some cards for the book myself and it will be the first time my work is published in a BOOK! And a little birdy told me that our own Sammie created the project on the cover!!

I'm working on my husbands computer right now, so I can't show you pictures, but I'll make sure to share something before this weekend!
